Runes (Rune Series Book 1) by Edna Walters
Hot neighbor with a Harley, magic runes, and secrets are only the beginning of Raine’s problems.
I’m so conflicted right now. I’m angry about the ending and yet the author did a good enough job to make me want to read the second book to find out what happens.
We meet Raine, short for Lorraine, who is an average girl with two best friends who do everything together. Then here comes the new hot, bad boy neighbor, Torin. Did I mention he drives a Harley? To be honest, I really did not like Raine in the beginning. Especially because of how she treated Torin at first. And I could not believe she had the audacity to try to blackmail a team of people responsible for people’s futures! Idiot.
Also, for someone who claims to know a bit about mythology, she is incredibly ignorant about the Norse. Maybe I’m just biased.
Her mom really pissed me off with the secret she was hiding. Seriously?

This is one of those series where someone loses a memory and many things would be fixed if you and your family sat down with them and told them everything that had happened. No, they won’t get their memory back, but at least they know why you are acting the way you are. I don’t see that happening in book two based on the description though and due to the description I don’t think I’m going to read the rest of these books.
Let’s spend the whole book making the girl admit she has feelings for the guy and then completely make it pointless in book two! AH!
