Stone Guardian (Entwined Realms Book 1) by Danielle Monsch
Gargoyles, necromancers, and a heroine who isn't a fighter made this a refreshing read.
Larissa was born on the day of the Great Collision, when the Magic Realm and the Human Realm collided and joined. Mythical beings filled with magic entered the Human Realm and chaos ensued. Her mother died during childbirth and her father and brothers take over protective to a whole new level. Larissa is sheltered, but trying to break free of her father’s hold. Living on her own at twenty-six years old, she lives a basic life as a teacher and doesn’t go outside of the human-only city she lives in. Unfortunately non-humans are entering the city and they seem hell bent on getting Larissa. The big question is: why do they want her. We meet interesting characters along the way, but my two favorite are Terak, the Gargoyle, and Fallon, a female warrior with a big sword.
This is an adult book and there are sex scenes so be aware of that in advance. “Stone Embrace” is a 30 page addition to Stone Guardian which the author calls an epilogue to Stone Guardian. Stone Embrace is free on Amazon.
