A whirlwind of emotions, uncertainty, and deceit.
Gemma has never been normal. She didn’t have feelings, that was up until a few months ago when they suddenly started coming on. Then she meets the mysterious new boy in school, Alex, and a new electric sensation fills her every time she is with him. What is this feeling? And just who is he?
This story had a ton of mystery as Gemma does not remember her past or her parents who were killed in a car accident…or were they! I really felt terrible for poor Gemma. She did not choose any of what was happening to her or what had happened and no one seemed to care what she wanted in her life. The story ends with a major cliffhanger, but I’m not certain it was enough to persuade me to purchase book two. This ebook is currently free on Amazon and while I am not certain that I would read book two, it is a decent read and has interesting characters that I would recommend this book as a random read.

I did not like Alex and how conflicted he constantly was. Gemma isn’t supposed to feel and yet he kisses her twice? I understand that he may not know what he feels with everything, but he knows that he isn’t supposed to make her feel emotions, but he constantly does. Also, it didn’t make sense to me that the Death Walkers were repeatedly trying to kill Emma, but in the end we find out that Stephan is working with them to keep her alive. Why did they try to kill her so much if they want her alive? Very confusing. The only character that I really liked and felt for, aside from Gemma, was Laylen. He, like Gemma, hadn’t asked for what happened to him and yet they treated him terribly.
